My monstera has lost the will to live. I need to know whether it can recover. It's almost April. Last October to December third it got no water. I was away for a short trip that turned into my dad dying. So I didn't arrange for someone to water.

But my grow light was on twelve hours a day.

Came back to Lots of brown leaves which makes sense..

But the new growth is coming up black too like in the pictures. The leaves that are torn are where I tore off dead bits. Some of the pictures are of the older leaves that dried out and the others are of newer leaves.

I just repotted it yesterday. All this time I didn't realize one or two of the roots were sticking out a bit. I put it in a much bigger pot yesterday. But I just noticed that new shoot is coming out and it's already black. Give up? How to help it be healthy? What's wrong even?

The new soil is miracle gro for indoor plants.

Please help and if I did anything idiotic I'm sorry!

How long have you had this plant? Speaking from experiences does not look like typical underwatering. It does have some signs that the soil may be remaining moist for too long. But I’m more concerned that it has thrips.
