During the March meeting, the Lake Oroville Area Garden Club honored long-standing member Sandra Northam — pictured on the left — for her dedication to the club with a Penny Pines Certificate of Appreciation from the USDA Forest Service and the Plumas National Forest. Penny Pines Chair Ilene Herringer — pictured on the right — officiated the ceremony. Donations from the club help reforest areas of Plumas County in the recent wildfire burn areas. One mission of the club is to sponsor conservation through reforestation. The LOAGC meets the second Thursday of each month from September through June at 9:30 a.m. at the Trinity Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, located at 2350 Foothill Boulevard in Oroville. Guests are welcome to attend, and can get more information by email at loagc.info@aol.com, by phone or text to 530-566-6457, or on Facebook or Instagram.
How to submit a snapshot
Snapshots, reader-submitted photos of community events, are published Monday. They may include service projects, guest speakers at club meetings, awards being presented or kids doing school projects. Just make sure there are people in the photo — no more than 12 — and keep it current.
Send a high-resolution JPG with a paragraph explaining the content of the photo: who (in left-to-right order with last names), what, where, when and why to snapshots@chicoer.com. Non-digital submissions will not be accepted at this time.
We can’t accept photos about businesses, private events or those adorable pet photos.
