This is my first post so hi everyone!

I have three almost identical NFT hydrotowers in use: two for general greens and one for chili peppers exclusively.

The chili-tower has a higher EC (1800-2000) and 3x40W Cosmorrow Fullspectrum LED lights, while the greens-towers sit at 1300 EC and have more natural light and 3x12W as supports.

Since a gew weeks, the basil (team greens-tower) and the chillis started growing yellow leaves.

I thought of iron deficiency and lowered the pH to 5.5-5.7 checking every morning.

Before, it was fluctuating between 5.5 and 6.0 as I checked it every 48h.

The result after three days was more transparent-ish leaves rather than the problem being solved which led me to ask you about your opinion.

My general routine is:

– Checking pH and EC every 48h and adjust as needed (usually pretty small drifts and linear water consumption)

– Replacing nutrient solution every 7 days and calibrating the meter

– Pumps on/off every 30‘

– Light 14h

I use Plagron Hydro A&B since day one which was in late December of 2025

Am I using an unsuitable nutrient mix, am I supposed to add iron or is this against expectations simply light stress?

Thanks a lot in advance for your feedback and do not hesitate to ask for more specific information.
