I lost my massive privacy tree last year, and suddenly my corner lot garden was on display for the whole neighborhood! π To stop the nosey neighbors and get my privacy back, Iβm turning my raised beds into a 7-foot living fence using vertical trellises. Not only does this create a DIY privacy wall, but it also means way more room to grow UP!
If you’re gardening in a small space or need a quick privacy hack, this is for you.

Itβs been so weird gardening "in public" since I lost my tree! π These 7-foot trellises are already making such a huge difference. Are you team "Living Fence" or do you prefer a traditional wood fence?

My neighbor cut their tree down so I lost mine. Hot California sunshine right on my back door porch, which was my favorite place to sit Thank you for the idea
I have a small patio apartment. So I'm in the same container garden world. Trellis gardening at its best.
For a fast start, I planted some fast growing vines. I loved the moon flower. Annual in my zone. Large white blossoms. Deep green heart shaped leaves. Night blooming.
Another vine more permanent once established… Perrenial.. Brugmansia sangueneses. Bright trumpet flowers with sturdy vines and leaves. There is also a tree form of Brugmansia suaveolens. White drooping blossoms on imbs. Pruned to provide sturdy tree form will give you a beautiful tree. Bonsai the form to contain height and shape. Comes in a lot of colors. Non edible.
That is a lovely plan. Trellis growing is beautiful β€.
Beautiful!!β€π

Cucumbers and green beans do well. They'll give you coverage and homegrown veggies are the best!
That's a great idea Pam! God bless you and your beautiful family! Blessings from Florida!β€πποΈπβοΈβ£οΈππππ₯°π

We have been using trellises for many years now. Not for privately but for our plants. Great for cucumbers, green beans etc.
NICE IDEA. THANKS PAM, I needed this Sooooo BADπ€π€π€
Pam, this idea comes at the best time. I want to grow long beans but I never thought to put a trellis in a container. π
I was thinking π€ the sameβ€
I really want to roll around in your grass! It looks so lush! Anyway, you must have some incredibly nosy neighbors π!
Opportunity, dwarf fruit trees
I am an apartment dweller and grow in containers on my patio with no privacy this is a great idea! I am zone 6
I would attach anchor points to that privacy fence and grow tall edibles against it from the corner of your house back at least half way down your back yard. That and your trellis garden would mean you could sunbathe on your patio!
Love you, Miss Pam! Yahweh Almighty bless protect and prosper you and yours!
Explore cattle panel arches, too! Couple of sturdy fellows could drive you some t-posts or rebar stakes and install one for you in 20 minutes after church in exchange for lemonade and cookies! You could document your planning and the assembly for another video topic! You go, Miss Pam!β€β€β€
Love it β€
ππ Do ya thang, Auntie Pam! π
This is awesome. Where did you get the trellis from?
