It's getting nice and wide – about 7 inches across – but it's developing a bit of a trunk…should I cut or leave as is?

I'm seeing tiny offshoots starting along the stem (about 6) so maybe the trunk will fill up? But I've also read that this plant doesn't really offshoot.

Anyone have any experience with this plant?

Would leave it and observe you never know if you got lucky and got atleast one off shoot altho they can be just aerial roots, once confirmed you can choose to behead if they are roots or let it be if they are off shoots, and if you do behead do not chuck the stem away since it can possibly be stimulated to get off shoots from the beheading even if there are no leaves left but that is if the plant is healthy and has alot of stored energy.

That’s gorgeously grotesque! I need one *now.* I don’t cut mine down anymore, I tend to get a lot of pests and they’re harder to treat when the plant is closer to the ground. If it’s going fine, just let it go. If you don’t want to see the stem, you could put it in a tall cache pot. You could also detach a couple of the bottom leaves and leave them on the surface to propagate
