I saw this Majesty Palm on sale at the grocery store today and purchased it. I know these are notoriously difficult plants to manage but my current apartment tends to be warm and with relatively high humidity so I figured it was worth a shot.
However, when I got home I noticed a number of its branches were drooping considerably and the middle part of its stem (the new branches growing from the middle) are turning a nasty shade of yellow. I did some googling and am now worried that rot has already set in and the plant is doomed (although there is no odour). It seems well watered and was in a spot in the store where it got lots of light.
I have 3 days to return it and receive a refund, but would love to save it if I can! Does anyone have suggestions or an idea of why the middle stem looks so yellow? Thanks!
