As the days are getting longer and temperatures outside are ramping up, it’s finally stating to feel like spring. If you plan on enjoying the weather and spending as much time as possible in the garden, it’s worth turning your attention to Dunelm.

The high street retailer has released a new garden parasol that shoppers say is ‘perfect’ for small gardens and patios. Costing £15, the Elements Grey Sail Parasol is a modern, stylish, and highly effective alternative to traditional umbrellas and awnings.

Dunelm’s Elements Grey Sail Parasol offers a great source of sun shade and UV protection, allowing Brits to enjoy the outdoors and relax outside in comfort. Instead of using unsightly poles, the parasol uses anchor points to create a taut, tensioned structure that provides coverage from the elements.

Made from polyester and metal, the grey Elements Grey Sail Parasol is strong, durable, and easy to clean. It measures H 356cm x W 320cm x D 351 cm and comes with a one-year guarantee, which is always a plus.

Elsewhere, Wowcher is offering the 2 x 2.5m Electric Retractable Awning with LED Light Strips has been reduced by 33%, now costing £283.49 instead of £429. The sleek aluminium and metal frame stands up to the British weather, while integrated LED strips let you entertain long after sunset.

Alternatively, the 3X4m Garden Pergola With LED Lighting and Waterproof Awning was priced at £499.99 but shoppers can pick it up for £149, offering a massive 70% saving. The robust, contemporary pergola creates a welcoming outdoor retreat by day and transforms into a glowing social hub by night with integrated LED lighting.

At Sainsbury’s Habitat, the Sunbeam 1.6m Garden Parasol comes in at £25. Featuring a mid-century modern style, the retro-inspired fringe parasol adds glamour to any summer garden while being functional and easy to use.

Back at Dunelm, the Elements Grey Sail Parasol boasts an overall star-rating of 4.7 out of five based on almost 40 reviews. One satisfied shopper said: ” “Excellent coverage in our small back garden. Purchased for when the grandchildren playing out.”

A second wrote: “Absolutely love this I needed something to shade my garden as it’s so nice to be able to sit outside when it’s really sunny. Lovely shading.”

“The sail parasol is of good quality and is a good size,” a third penned. “It has sewn in rings at each vertex which make it easy to install with the included, long cords. Used them under my conservatory roof for extra shade. Worked a treat.”

One shopper, however, wasn’t as impressed with the Elements Grey Sail Parasol and gave it a three-star review. It reads: “It’s not a right-angle triangle as implied by the diagram online which is annoying.

“Assuming you’re happy with that (I’m not but too much hassle to return) the quality seems fairly good. Its one-star from my perspective but if they improve the online description and it’s what you want might be a good buy so on balance I gave it a three.”

But somebody else loved their latest Dunelm purchase, adding: “Easy to install and looks great up, perfect for creating shade in a small area. Really happy with purchase and how easy click and collect was.”

A different shopper hailed the parasol as ‘disappointing’ and gave it a one-star rating. It mentions: “Item is made from two pieces of material that are poorly stitched together. Not mentioned in details. Returned to store.”

Another five-star review reads: “An inexpensive way to provide some shade, if you have three points to which to tie it. It does not come with poles. I think the up side of not having poles is that there will be less to store, and our storage space is limited.”
