It dropped its leaves in the fall, and I kept it watered and indoors for the winter. Plants outside are budding, but there is nothing happening on my tree. It is in front of a South facing window and I am in the US. Generic potting soil for indoor plants.

    Where are you in the USA? Olive trees are evergreen, they keep their leaves in winter. When it dropped all of its leaves it probably died, was it below 10 degrees there, or forgotten to water or something? Mine stays outside year round

    That branch is most likely dead. As for the rest of the plant, hard to say without more information.
