We planted these about 1.5 yrs ago (they were about 1.3m at the time) some are doing ok, but others had sections that died off. They don’t look great.

Those with experience with Lillys do you think they will grow to be full plants to provide the screening we need?

Or should we pull out the bad ones and go again?

They look like they’re doing alright now, but if you want more bushiness give them a tip prune to encourage more branching. A good regular feed will help too.

Fertiliser and water. remove most of the suckers at the base should promote growth up higher.

I found trimming mine vertically helped them grow horizontally in the first year or so. Maybe trim them back to fence height.

wettasoil, water, fertiliser, move mulch away, improve soil, more water and fertiliser. I would try another year. Maybe some bug spray too. They need some tlc.

Depends what you want them to do. If you want a hedge, you won’t get new leaves on the old wood. I had a hedge but it turned really leggy, so I pulled them all out.
