I love the white garden idea.
It’s already 100 in Az
Love your shady area with green white ,it’s really come along 💕
In central IL, 5 B. Our greenhous4 just open3d and 8 got to go. Heav3nly to be in a greenhouse again as in after a very longgggggg
Winter. Bought pansies!
So exciting! And planting them this🎉 afternoon.
How fun!
Shade clothes on the ceiling and ventilation might work on your greenhouse. I'd use 50% sunblocking on the ceiling. Painted glass might eventually start peeling.
Great tour, can't wait for your green 💚 house to be full of plants
I’m hoping to get chickens soon. Did you know that? Hahahahahaha. Too cute! So relatable! Love this!
Beautiful, last 20s today 82, Saturday 90 here in NE Oklahoma and in a drought😢
I just google (Victorian Pot Room) the discerption as interesting !!!!!! 🙂 🙂 please look it up Janey. :)::::))))))
70 here in Illinois

Yay for the tour and the big pile of compost!!!
Double take scarlet quince … stunning
It might be nicer to have a pergola attached to the back of the home instead of planting on the house..give you some shade & a nice sitting/eating area..
More outdoor living I’d say could look really nice – I don’t see anywhere except the front pergola to sit & I thought you were going to paint it white? So it blends with your home?
However, Janey & Jason the garden design is fabulous-it’s not easy designing a one acre garden because I did it but it took 10 years to look it’s best..
I had garden rooms too…with no Internet in the 80’-90’s it was all books to read by most of the people you have mentioned for inspiration!
Your looking good ❤❤
HOT!! At 75 degrees!!
I’m in Azusa, CA and we are in the high 90’s this week!!!😅
I too use free wood chips for no dig and deep mulching. I get my free chips from my arborist who works on my trees every couple of years. He has enough work in the area and is always happy to drop chips instead of hauling long distances to get rid of.
If your arborist doesn’t do enough work in the area, make friends with someone who does;)
Oh Janey, I did not realize you lost your chickens! I am so sorry!
Integrated pest management… I learned to Treasure yellow jacket wasps last year! I have a non spray rose garden. Last year Over night tiny green worms were devastating my whole front yard!
I was horrified the roses hardly had leaves! I started hand removal but it was hopeless! I was sitting all day beneath them pulling off worms when a yellow jacket wasp landed on the rose in front of me. I froze watching it police the branches i just worked on gathering green worms i missed!!l i dashed in the house and brought out a can of cat food and placed it beside him. He was on the can when i backed away. I remembered that thru the last summer they cleared my hollyhocks from spidermites and aphids!
The next morning i went out to try to save roses and there were wasps all over them pulling off worms! Even new leaves had opened since yesterday! The wasps saved not only my roses but hydrangeas, lupine, phlox, plumaria, delphiniums, trees, whole garden had these little Saviors policing them!!! All,summer i put cat food cans in the rose garden…Not one Bug attacked them not even Japanese beetles! My neighbor lost her roses to). I will be trying to get the wasps back this Spring with cat food cans!!!!
For the fogging of the green house there’s that plastic contact paper stuff at home depot and you just spray water to attach it and so it don’t have to be permanent, you could experiment!
Any chance you can share where your jeans are from? They are so cute!! Love the tour 😊
I am excited to watch you start planting up your back garden. Great tour Janey and Jason! Xxx
Have your kids paint them, especially if you don’t care how awesome it looks. The camera won’t see the brush strokes. Get temporary glass film to cover your greenhouse windows and see if it’s what you want and works before committing
Hi Janie…. A fellow California gardener here… you work with PW, do you know why they won’t ship the Virtuoso™ Pinkerific™ Dahlia (Dahlia variabilis) to CA? So frustrating, I would love it in my garden.
Can you share where you get your compost for those of us that are close to you?
