Hey guys! This is my astrophytum ornatum, one of my favorite guys! He’s developed this black coloring at the bottom over the last six months, it’s not squishy to the touch or anything and it recently has had flowers actually. I’ve seen where some people describe this as developing with age, has anyone else had that experience as well?

Totally normal corking of the base/ old growth. Absolutely nothing to worry about. Cactus looks very healthy
I think it should be normal
