TLDR: does this look right for pre-sprouting? (Depth, position, etc.). If they have eyes, does that mean they’re “awake”?
Im a complete newbie, i ordered way too many tubers (this is only my first shipment of a few), and I’m trying to learn as much as possible but I’m definitely in over my head. I posted previously and got a bunch of helpful information but I have some more questions.
Im in zone 6b so I decided to pre sprout, I already start veggies from seed so I have a greenhouse, lights, and fans. These tubers came to me like this (yesterday), they all have little sprouts except two, but I can see the eyes on those two as well.
They’re positioned straight down with the necks out, none of the eyes are covered.
should the tubers be buried completely? Should the growth also be buried?
What about the little friend who has baby leaves? Anything special I should be doing with her? Should those leaves be pinched yet & should I start watering her?
I know I’m not supposed to water the tubers yet, but when should I start watering them?
send help please 😅

This is an automatic reminder regarding r/dahlias Rule 3:
When reasonable*, posters should make a good-faith effort to identify which variety/varieties are shown in their photo(s). If you don’t know for certain, please say so. Someone will usually know!
*Common-sense exceptions to this rule will be honored, such as if the photo does not contain a blossom, or if your photo contains large volumes (such as in wide field shots).
If you’ve already done this, thank you! No further action required.
If not, please add a reply to this comment and confirm if you know the name of your dahlia variety/varieties shown in the photo(s). Alternately, if you’re uncertain of the variety name(s), it’s ok to say that, too.
