So going to go with mulch as everyone suggested. I just need tips now on how to get rid of this stuff. It’s rampant throughout the garden section and no amount of poison/weed killer seems to work.

Crowning with a knife, cut an inverted cone into the ground to remove the growth point, then tubers in the ground will not shoot
Looks like asparagus fern. Will be little bulbs just under the surface. Dig out with the shoot.
