The upcoming Easter bank holiday weekend presents an ideal chance for Somerset locals to discover the county’s breathtaking countryside over four days.

There’s little that compares to a trip to the coast for breathing in the sea air and creating memories with family and friends.

While Somerset is home to popular seaside towns including Weston-super-Mare, Minehead and Clevedon, there are plenty of hidden coastal treasures waiting to be found that merit just as much attention.

St Audries Bay, tucked away at the foot of The Quantocks, is particularly noteworthy for its sweeping stretch of coastline.

The varied beach, with its smooth pebbles, sand, shingle and rocky outcrops, is among Somerset’s most impressive seaside locations and draws fossil hunters from far and wide, reports Somerset Live.

A dramatic coastal scene featuring a steep cliff with lush green moss and algae clinging to its surface. Water cascades from the cliff's edge into the sea below, creating a serene yet powerful natural spectacle.

Yet St Audries Bay’s most remarkable feature is surely the two magnificent waterfalls cascading down the cliffs that frame the beach.

Whilst the Bristol Channel’s waters don’t possess the sparkling azure hues of exotic destinations, appearing somewhat murky by comparison, the spot comes highly recommended for a day out, with the waterfalls alone making it well worth the visit.
