I’m in the lower half of CT, and this is growing in my chicken run. I really like it, and want to see it do well. It’s so pretty and I want to see it flower eventually. Should I put some chicken wire around it so my chickens don’t fuck with it? Seems pretty young and I believe it’s the first time I’ve seen it. Also if I can do anything to help it grow or thrive?

I used to have a ton of these as a kid in my yard in Spokane WA, hated them because at a glance thistles n stuff can look like this guy and then you go barefoot running over it just to find out it was this soft cute lil guy but an evil foot destroying thistle
Don’t let it go to seed. Mullein is a very successful invasive species.
I want to add that I will be moving in about a year and a half and the area I live will be converted to offices and more room for the school I live near. So everything here will likely be removed and turned into a playscape and office building. So I’m not super worried about the spreading. Just wanna enjoy it while I can! Won’t be my problem anymore after that
