Central Coast, NSW Came out this morning ready to pick my pineapple and a bloody possum took the first bite. Little bastard almost wrecked 2 years of work on this fruit! Someone control these little buggers! lol by Cold_Storage_007 Gardening Australia 12 Comments Murloc_Wholmes 6 days ago Honestly heartbreaking to see. My condolences nemoralis13 6 days ago Cut around it! You always gotta pick it one day earlier than you think. The possums seem to know exactly when it’s perfect. Hensanddogs 6 days ago I’ve been there, unbelievably frustrating. You’d think of all the foods possums and rats pinch, a spiky pineapple would be safe. Da_Don_69 6 days ago Half of it is salvageable. Id eat the rest of it while the possum is watching out of spite username____needed 6 days ago Mate, that’s awful 😔 I’m sorry, I’d be ropable about it too. wobblejuice 6 days ago Could be rats. Hot-Posse 6 days ago LOL I can’t stop laughing at the second pic. Better luck next time! The pineapples, here in QLD, are so sweet and juicy. tickelme 6 days ago Next time put some netting around it Same_Ad494 6 days ago Tell me about it. Half my fricken pomegranites. amb393 6 days ago Cut the top off replant for next time TotallyAwry 6 days ago You can cut that bit out. I’ve stood by my fig tree, eyeballing a possum, picking the chomped on fruit, cutting off the chomped bit, and eating it in front of it. I then felt every single other piece, and shoved the edible ones in my face. The possum probably didn’t give a shit, but it made me feel better. 7Zarx7 6 days ago Had the same for rats on grapes and tomatoes. Certainly…disappointing.
