That’s a gorgeous ponytail palm. I’m salivating just looking at it. So pretty. So lush.

It’s beautiful, I don’t think you need to remove. Instead of widespread roots, it’s storing water in the bulb.

  3. Definitely remove it. I’ll help get rid of it for you 😎

Yes remove it. The bulb at the base will grow bigger and crack your concrete

Remove it and drop it off at my place 👍🏻

It’s a ponytail palm, has small root system that won’t damage anything.

  7. I have a ponytail palm, of which this an excellent example. It has been in a smallish pot (50cm) for 30 years. Recently gave it a new home in a slightly larger pot, and it is so much happier. So they have a tiny rootball and last forever.

Ive got one of those (previously had a 2nd).

It seems everyone wants them until its time to remove them. Mine is a fair bit bigger than that and id be thrilled if someone came and took it away.

I had some of these and regret taking them out.

There is very little root base and they just tip over with a push. Flat bottomed almost. They’re not going to cause root damage to things

Seriously? This is a sought-after tree

  11. Fun_Plums

You could sell it to a tree place for about $500 if you are smart.

Dude they got told it’s a yukka? Jeeez.

Went to a garden place that specialised in ferns and palms, you’d be surprised how many varieties of palms there are and just how much they’re worth.

This is on the ”proper big” side of the scale, and given how long it takes to grow them to this size, worth a pretty penny.

Yucca look totally different, this ponytail palm stores its water in its bulbous bottom.

The people/neighbours that are trying to convince the owners to get rid of it, they’re trying to pull one on them, it’s a desirable plant and expensive. These people are trying to get one for free.

Google what a ponytail palm and yucca look like, and show it to your friends.

That’s a ponytail palm and it’s worth quite a bit of money.
