Hello I am hoping someone knows what this is – I have had a snake plant for a couple of years now with no issues, and its growing very well, just this morning I noticed a weird vine come out of the plant and it looks like its part of it but i have never seen it do this before – I am not sure if it got invaded by some other kind of weird species because i have no other plants but since its by a window maybe something blew in from the outside?

Also it looks wet and kind of gross so i need to know if i should cut it or something else?

Is this normal?

    Unfortunately your plant will die.

Your plant is flowering. It’s fine.

If your plant’s roots are healthy (everything else looks fine), congratulations! Snake plants have flowers. The wet stuff is sap, it’s supposed to be sweet and very sticky. When it’s done flowering and the stalk is dying, just snip it.

It’s a flower! Apparently they have a wonderful smell. Congrats.

It’s going to bloom – delightful evening/night-time fragrance since they’ve adapted to pollination by night flying insects.

I can’t help wondering how someone has a plant and doesn’t think ‘flower’ the moment something starts to grow from it. I hope you know how babies are made otherwise you might be in for a shock one day. 😁

It’s very happy. I’ve tried for years to get a flower, but I’m am exceptionally talented at murdering plants. Woth my talented I haven’t come close to flowers.

This is what we strive for. This is a *happy* plant. I’m gonna go show this to my snakes to remind them of their goals.
