With warmer temperature and flowers blooming, Friday marked the first official day of spring.

After a long winter, many residents of Meridian are excited to see spring officially here.

Many gardeners in Meridian are starting to get their gardens ready with warm temperatures. So this means they are flocking to the local garden shops.

“We’re expecting a very, very busy weekend. Weather is perfect. Seventies and eighties. So, we’re already busy this morning. As you can see. And, it’s going to be a great weekend,” Al Davis, owner of Al’s Garden and Gift, said.

Garden experts believe the March in Mississippi is a good time to prepare for planting flowers and vegetables.
