Pupils from Ysgol Bryn Alyn in Gwersyllt have completed a youth-led gardening project, creating and delivering bee-friendly planters to organisations across the community.

The initiative was funded through the Youth Cymru Youth-Led Social Action Grant, with support from the school’s youth worker.

Students planned and delivered the project themselves, designing sensory planters using pollinator-friendly plants including lavender, mint and thyme.

As part of the work, pupils contacted local businesses to source materials, with Bellis Brothers Farm Shop and Garden Centre providing support and donations.

Once completed, the handmade planters were delivered to several locations in the community, including Pendine Park Care Home, Gwersyllt Community Primary School, and Ysgol Heulfan.

A spokesperson said the project was “another proud moment for Team YBA”, and praised the pupils for their creativity and the leadership skills.
