hello, I have a cactus and it's turning brown on the top as seen in the picture. everywhere online where I look I see conflicting info. could someone please help me on what I should do. should I give it more water or cut it off?
If its rot on the bottom, you need to cut 2 inches above it and add some rooting hormone to it and let it dry and callous for a few weeks. Then you wanna chop 2 inches below the top rotted area and sprinkle that with sulfur powder.

To check if the bottom is rotted, up root the cavtus and feel the base, if its squishy, its most likely rotted/rotting. But if its hard then it has calloused and you should be fine, just need to let the roots dry after up rooting for 2 days or so.
