MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – The Memphis Botanic Garden kicked off its “BLOOM: Million Shades of Spring” event Thursday, less than 24 hours before the start of the spring season.

The garden invited donors and the community to experience the cherry trees, multi-colored tulips and other scenery across the 96-acre park.

Several families said they attend the event each year.

“The tulips are gorgeous right now,” said Kassie Sanborn, a Memphis Botanic Garden visitor. “There are so many different colors, so we’re excited to explore around the area…

“…My kids are excited to see the fish, and there’s the big backyard area that they run around in. We just can’t wait to get to as much as we can.”

The director of the Memphis Botanic Garden said the garden will have events all spring and summer long. BLOOM at the Garden will run from March through May.
