Wake Forest residents will have a chance to step inside some of the town’s most carefully curated outdoor spaces later this month as the Wake Forest Garden Club prepares to host its annual Art in the Gardens tour.

The two-day event is scheduled for Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25 and will feature a self-guided tour of eight private gardens across town.

Participants will begin at the Wake Forest Historical Museum, where they can pick up a passport map before heading out to explore the featured locations. The nearby Calvin Jones House will also be open for free tours during the event.

In addition to the gardens themselves, this year’s tour will incorporate a local arts component.

Eleven artists will display and sell their work at select stops, while floral installations created by area florists and garden club members will be featured throughout the tour.

Tickets cost $30 and provide access to both days of the event. They are currently available at the Wake Forest Historical Museum, Southern Suds & Gifts, and Page 158 Books.

Organizers say the event relies on the participation of local homeowners who open their gardens to the public, as well as artists who contribute to the experience.

Proceeds will go toward maintaining the museum’s gardens and supporting community projects led by the Wake Forest Garden Club.

Founded in 1924, the club is one of the town’s longstanding civic organizations and has used the event in recent years to combine gardening, local art, and fundraising into a single spring tradition.
