Hi all! Last year I purchased a few Dahlia Tubers for the first time ever and I fell in love watching them bloom! At the end up the season I dug them up, cleaned them off, and stored them in a cool area in a container either pine shavings. After researching methods this seemed to be the easiest way for me to store them. I checked them periodically and gave them a light misting when it seemed to be needed. I pulled them out last week to start waking them up and unfortunately most seemed to have rotted out. The few that didn’t dried and shriveled up pretty bad, I’m going to plant those ones and hope for the best.
Ive been looking to get some more to replace what I’ve lost and purchased a pack from a big box store and yesterday I found both tubers had gull. I know it happens and then some folks have great luck with store bought but that definitely turned me off to trying anymore.. I started looking at online growers and the price for anything more than a couple is just something I can’t justify at the moment. I’ve been looking through FB marketplace and similar, as well as asking local gardening groups but haven’t had much luck finding anyone with extras to share. So I guess, I don’t know. I just thought maybe I could post on Reddit and potentially find someone kind enough to spare a few..
If you’re able to, I’m in the US, specifically Maryland and willing to come to you or meet wherever you need. I have a bunch of different seedlings growing currently, all kinds of flowers and veggies that I would love to trade for them if you’re interested. I also have $50 left in my gardening budget that I can send via PayPal to help with shipping if you’re not local but willing to share.
I apologize as I recognize reddits probably not the best place to ask and I hope I’m not coming off horribly. I just thought it might be worth the long shot.
Thank you all greatly!

This is an automatic reminder regarding r/dahlias Rule 3:
When reasonable*, posters should make a good-faith effort to identify which variety/varieties are shown in their photo(s). If you don’t know for certain, please say so. Someone will usually know!
*Common-sense exceptions to this rule will be honored, such as if the photo does not contain a blossom, or if your photo contains large volumes (such as in wide field shots).
If you’ve already done this, thank you! No further action required.
If not, please add a reply to this comment and confirm if you know the name of your dahlia variety/varieties shown in the photo(s). Alternately, if you’re uncertain of the variety name(s), it’s ok to say that, too.
