Think Green Club President Sebastien Spanos has been taking care of the new garden behind the culinary classroom and has been implementing new features to keep everything up to date. This being the first big addition means that Spanos has a lot more plans coming up for the garden and new seeds that he wants to plant.
“We are trying to figure out the watering situation because we don’t have irrigation, so far we are just watering by hand and we have a lot of new stuff growing right now”, Spanos said.
There were many new changes to the garden to improve, not only the landscape but also the culinary pathway, ranging from flowers to vegetables.
“Eventually my goal is to have a dedicated space for the native plants, which we have some growing right now and we want them all to be in one dedicated space, right now the only new plants we have are the flowers on top by culinary and veggies on the bottom”, Spanos said.
One of the club members, Brian Nguyen, plans for the garden to brighten up the school and bring the community together.
“I think this is the start for a very ambitious project that can add a lot more flora to the school and pretty up the place with a few new colors”, Nguyen said.
