Mid March 2026, and Tony and I went out to B&M Garden Centre for some landscape bark, and came home with a new ‘Waggie’ Palm. Just what we needed to finish off the new garden bed…and also some lovely grasses too.

What a bargain at only £37.50…

Join us as we look at the new stock, and then home in the lovely March sunshine, to a day of planting….let the new season commence..

A perfect day..

  1. Hiya Tracey… Nice waggy! I'm still on the look out for one!! Just hyped your video🎉! Have a great Sunday! Everything is looking fabulous!

  2. @11:07 it may be better to swap the Bronze carex grass to the second/third carex grass along the path. The Pittosporum might pop out more on the approach with another green next to it since there are 2 others around it already when you arrive at the corner.

  3. Really look forward to your vids.. could you share with the community how you allocate a budget for plants and if there is a budget. Thanks

  4. Love those leaves of the waggy! Truly elegant!
Almost 4 years ago I got the same carex grasses in bronze & green. The bronze variety has made many babies & on Friday I found another pup. Some other ornamental grasses I’ll be moving more into the sun as I know they don’t receive their fair share of the sun from the position they’re still holding. Hopefully I can find that lomandra white sands & replace the other ones just removed.
Next week is going to be a good gardening week.

  5. Looking great Tracey, omg I'm so Jealous, when you put the spade in your soil it glides like butter, mine is clay and has so much bracken stones and all sorts, 🌿🌿 I'm tempted to buy a Waggi now after watching this 😂

  6. Great minds think the same Tracey , went to B&M and got myself a Waggie Palm . Been after one for over 3 years , planted today and looking good. Thanks for a great video all the best Ken.

  7. Another great upload… Fantastic looking Waggy Palm…. As a sidenote – I think that B&M owe you, and some of your fellow UK Tropical YouTube Channels some gratitude as you've given them a lot of love (and custom) so far this year….You've certainly had me looking around my local (Harlow) Store 🙂

  8. I always enjoy watching your videos but this one especially. It has given me so much inspiration for the new garden. The garden is going to be a mix of everything, tropical, Mediterranean with low steins and trees. I will also be mixing in cottage style flowering plants and lots of dahlias. It’ll definitely be a work in progress for the next couple of years.

  9. Will you ever stop buying new plants, Tracey? No need to answer, I know you won’t! Not sure about you but I’m actually getting worse and buying more plants than ever! Tom

  10. Hi how are you? You're garden looks very mediterranean Spanish if that's what you're going for or unless you're going for the more sub tropical exotic garden it looks fantastic Either way, I've got a big trachycarpus fortunei last week for £37.50 I've repotting it but not sure of I done it right, I've used a mix of old and new compost, the roots are right at the bottom of the pot and theres a ring on the inside of the pot from were the bottom of the trunk and roots where nor sure if its deep enough in the pot or the pots not deep enough or I didn't cover the palm enough around the trunk, thd roots and trunk does move slightly, I was wondering if I should leave it to grow and stiffen up and the roots fill the pot, I know I should have watered it after I repotted it but it did rain later on in the evening last Thursday quite a bit very hard so I left the water, I need to feed it and watered it as not been home since Friday, was at my stepdads, any advice on caring for a fortunei in a pot would be appreciated and I hope my palm doesn't die as I know they are pretty tough robust palms 😊
