TROY, N.Y. — The 37th annual Capital Region Flower & Garden Expo is returning to Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) at the end of the month.
Experience spring in full bloom from March 27-29, inside HVCC’s McDonough Sports Complex. The event offers breathtaking garden installations, themed floral exhibits, and a lively Marketplace, making it the perfect way to escape the winter blues and get inspired for the season ahead.
This year’s theme for the Expo’s Floral Design Showcase is “Festival of Flowers,” and features towering hot air balloons, dramatic floral fireworks, opulent Gilded Age centerpieces, vibrant tulip celebrations, and intricate festival-inspired tapestries. Showcase exhibitors include: Home Earth Alliance, Dirt & Decor, Empire Water Gardens, George’s Market, Weathered Wood, Northeastern NY Orchid Society, and a stunning Sand Sculpture by acclaimed artist Phil Singer.
Expo visitors can explore immersive, large-scale garden displays created by the Capital Region’s top landscape professionals. These walk-through gardens feature lush plantings, vibrant flowers in bloom, patios, water features, native gardens with interactive educational exhibits, and children’s activities. The Marketplace will feature over 160 vendors offering houseplants, bulbs, seeds, garden décor, tools, artisan foods, handcrafted goods, and one-of-a-kind gifts. Outside, food trucks will serve a variety of crowd favorites, giving visitors plenty of options to enjoy a meal or snack during their visit. Regional experts in lawn and garden care, floral design, and ecological landscaping will give free hourly seminars and demonstrations.
New this year is the Wildwood Sensory Room, a safe, calming, and inclusive space designed to help people of all ages and abilities who may need a break from the crowd. Since 1988, a portion of every ticket sold has benefited Wildwood, supporting programs and services for individuals and families with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders.
Expo hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. General admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the door; three-day passes are $40. Parking at the McDonough Sports Complex is free. For more information, visit flowerandgardenexpo.com.
