What to expect at the Sakura floral display
The Sakura floral display at Gardens By The Bay is held in partnership with the Embassy of Japan in Singapore. Once here, visitors can look for several cherry blossom varieties on display, including Prunus ‘Jugatsu’, the delicate Prunus ‘Somei Yoshino’ and the Prunus ‘Kiku Shidare’, famous for its layered blossoms that resemble pom-poms. The Sakura floral display also features a bridge set beneath a canopy of cherry blossoms inspired by Kenrokuen, one of Japan’s three landscape gardens in the Ishikawa Prefecture.
Other attractions at the Sakura floral display include a replica of the two-storied Nomura Samurai House overlooking a courtyard garden and a walk-through rain feature inspired by the wet climate of Kanazawa to showcase the beauty of a rain-kissed spring morning in Japan. Besides these, Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty will be joined by fan favourites, including My Melody, Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll and Kuromi, offering visitors a chance to click photos with them amid the cherry blossom-themed setting.
The Sakura floral display also features a grand lucky draw in which two participants can win a trip to Japan with All Nippon Airways. To learn how to participate, click here.
