Mine is this bird’s nest fern who I think just wants to die. Insanely slow growth after in an entire year. constantly having to prune yellow and crispy leaves. no matter how i water or how little. How much light, where I put her , etc. and before you ask, no I don’t water the nest. However, I do mist all my plants

  1. I can’t grow a golden pothos. I know they’re “easy” but I just can’t get it right. Got plenty of other plants that I do ok with it but for some reason, the golden just don’t like me.

Christmas cactus. They always kick the bucket. I gave up.

    spider plants.

Fiddle leaf? No prob. Ferns? Thriving. Crotons? We’ve made it work. But spider plants, the quintessential beginner, is straight up suicidal in my presence.

SAME! for awhile, it grew, then just said “no thank you” afterward and i’ve had 2 thus far where both did the same thing.

Snake. I’ve never had one grow more than a couple inches, I can’t explain it.

  6. Those pesky ferns are one of my mortal enemies

I got two types of plectranthus on a whim and they both hate me. One I was able to bring back into semi decent shape but the purpuratus has a death wish. They’re at my mum’s now, to see if they like the conditions better.

I have some plants that are famously temperamental like the FLF and aphelandra squarrosa, and they’re happy as can be. But these two groundcover troublemakers think they’re too good for my house.

  8. Absolutely any kind of cactus. And I really tried my best to take care of them. My reaction after each of these incidents is pretty funny… On the one hand I’d like to overcome this nonsense and be able to grow, care for them properly. But on the other hand, I don’t want to risk buying new ones and killing them 😛

Elkhorn fern that gets smaller and sadder as time stretches on.

My birds nest only thrives in like 80% humidity (IKEAGreenhouseClub for the win).

My transcendentia hated me. I give it distilled water only. It gets plenty of light and humidity. I got predatory mites thinking it was spider mites. It grows and then it browns and wrinkles and repeats.

Literally same. And I love birds nest ferns 😭 I’ve killed three and my fourth is browning. I think it’s bc I’m a chronic underwater-er and she hates that

String of pearls. Ugh. I love them so much and they hate me.

My hurricane birds nest fern hates me…I have babied it. It makes me so sad.

My calathea, but I can’t let it go. She has pretty privilege and she knows it.

  15. My birds nest ferns kept yellowing and dying no matter what I did. So, I showed it the trash can.

Now my bamboo palm is my problem child. It’s about to go on the curb.

I keep this plant in my Ball Python enclosure. It has an automatic misting system, and is about 14 inches from the LED. In living soil. Grows like a weed.

I’ve tried to keep moss indoors on multiple occasions…misting, no misting, covered, uncovered, on rocks, on soil….it just does not agree with me 😫

Possibly it wants you to create a humid environment by running a vaporizer in it’s room. In SE Asia, these get big enough that it makes more sense to call them cat bed ferns. The ones I’ve seen are epiphytic and would not want to be planted in soil.

Peperomia rosso. Calathea. They sincerely dislike me and anything I do to show them my love.

Most people over water birds nest ferns. They can also handle lots of light, only tolerate low light
