HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — A garden center in Henderson County rushes to move plants indoors as a hard freeze moves in tonight.

Linda’s Plants & Shrubs in Hendersonville brought in many blooming plants and flowers inside a warm greenhouse last night to prevent loss of inventory.

“It has been absolutely crazy; we have been moving in all our plants out of the wind and cold. Once we get a late cold snap during springtime, we have to pull them out of the wind to keep them plants that have buds on them,” said Linda’s Plants & Shrubs staff member Katie Motes. “It’s kind of a game we play until about May.”

Staff said they put flowers and flowering trees in any warm space. They put some of the plants in a tool and storage area.

They say they’ll keep the stock inside for this evening and maybe Wednesday as well.
