Next shoppers are heaping praise on a set of string lights for the garden said to transform the space into a ‘Mediterranean courtyard”. The Black 40 Warm White LED Outdoor Festoon Line Lights 9.8M, priced at £28, offer a mains powered light source that avoids the need for batteries.
Creating a warm white glow, the lights are ideal for adding ambience to the garden, especially during warm weather gatherings this spring and summer. They’ve earned a high rating of 4.7/5 stars overall with some shoppers claiming them to last for years.
A five star reviewer wrote: “Perfect in my back yard. And quite bright. I’ve had mine a couple of years and just as good now as when I bought them. Just bought a second set for my daughter.”

Another buyer called them “great value”, adding: “Had these up in my garden for a month now, so pleased with them, lovely soft light.”
A third shopper said: “Really happy with my purchase, fast delivery. The lights look amazing strung across my garden. The 40 inch string length is ample to create a lovely warm glow, turning any garden into a perfect Mediterranean courtyard scene.”
A fourth fan said: “Fabulous! Making my yard so pretty and welcoming! I love a nice outdoor space and these lights are beautiful.”

However, one shopper marked the lights down due to the plug. They said: “When I went to hang the lights up, one of the bulb covers fell off because it was missing the top piece, then I also realised that on some of the bulbs the hook to hang them on the gutter was facing in different directions, making it impossible to hang them neatly in a row.”
Alternatively, Dunelm sells the 20 LED Premium Festoon Outdoor String Lights, priced at £32, which are also mains powered. The total length is 14.5m, offering a slightly longer option.
There’s also plenty of solar powered lights available, including the Solar String Lights currently down to £13.56 in a limited time Amazon deal, as well as the LED Solar Powered Cord String Lights which are currently reduced to £2.99 at Wayfair.
