At this point I’ve lost count of how many little plants and sprouts have died on my hands but I can’t take it anymore, I had gotten to a point where all the ones I have were good but I was bad for a couple weeks and when I came back a couple of them were i sad that I cried

I don’t know what to do, help please

I’m so concerned bout those dots like the last picture idk what they are

Do you think they can be saved?

My watering habits: I water throughly like once a week

How much light the get: they’re at the patio, there’s a little ceiling but they get a couple hours of direct light

The first one is a Spathiphyllum, it was gifted to me like 2 months ago

The second is a Chlorophytum I’ve had her for like 2 years and never had seen her this bad

The first thing that caught my attention is your potting soil. It looks very heavy and clay like. That could be part of the problem. Is it bagged soil? From an outdoor source? Home mixed? Got any insights you can share on the soil?

Don’t be too hard on yourself. Failure is how we learn

I too have killed many plants, you learn as you go. Peace lilies and spider plants are two of the heartiest!

One of my peace lilies got down to just two leaves after a move, it got too cold, and I am happy to report I just left it mostly alone and it’s back to thriving.

Both plants prefer a bit of shade, so if they’re in direct sun all day they may be frying.

Peace lily, cut off the brown, but keep the green leaves. Even if they’re a bit crunchy they’ll still soak up sun, sun = energy to grow. Add some chunky orchid type mix to the dirt. Then stick that whole thing in a bowl of water overnight. They love a good bottom watering. Then just leave it alone for a while, few weeks. Stick a chopstick or wood stick in the dirt and don’t water again until the stick comes out dry. it’ll probably focus on regrowing roots first so you won’t necessarily see the recovery immediately, but it’ll bounce back. They are also really dramatic and droop when the are a bit thirsty. Kind of cool how this plant tells you exactly what it needs and when it needs it. 🙂

Spider plant, it also looks a bit crispy. Cut off the ugly bits, there are plenty of other green leaves. I would bottom water it overnight also, then top off with a bit of fresh dirt to support the grass blades better and cover up the like bald spot in the middle. And fluff up the grass, move things around a bit, they like it and movement will shake loose dust, or even little bugs! Then just monitor for new spots or pests!
