Jim was born in Escanaba, the son of John and Rose (LaMarche) Jacques. He served his country proudly in the US Army from 1959 to 1961 while stationed in Germany. He was a longtime Garden resident and was the owner and operator of Jim’s Auto Salvage for 50 years. Jim picked up tons of cars, trucks and scrap metal over the years and became known as “The man who cleaned up Garden without firing a single shot.”(WLUC)
