Hi. I planted dahlias for the first time last year. I’m in zone 3/4 (Vermont) so I started them in pots with lights indoors in April and planted them outdoors in June. I stored the tubers in peat moss over the winter— just took them out and 90% feel firm. But I don’t know what to do next? Mist them? Divide? I don’t see any eyes! Any help would be appreciated.

This is an automatic reminder regarding r/dahlias Rule 3:
When reasonable*, posters should make a good-faith effort to identify which variety/varieties are shown in their photo(s). If you don’t know for certain, please say so. Someone will usually know!
*Common-sense exceptions to this rule will be honored, such as if the photo does not contain a blossom, or if your photo contains large volumes (such as in wide field shots).
If you’ve already done this, thank you! No further action required.
If not, please add a reply to this comment and confirm if you know the name of your dahlia variety/varieties shown in the photo(s). Alternately, if you’re uncertain of the variety name(s), it’s ok to say that, too.

They look good. Pop them somewhere warm-ish to get them to start waking up. Mine started showing eyes less than a week after being put in the warm part of the basement. Dividing might be easier if you can see eyes and want to get down to single tubers, or you could just cut the clumps into quarters and call it good. Be sure to practice good hygiene and sanitation when you start cutting to help prevent any infections.
