You can try Cattleya or Oncidium. Both fairly simple. Cattleya needs more light than phals.
I had good luck with an oncidium twinkle…bloomed reliably and the blooms smell good
My recommendation is dendrobium phalenopsis. Very similar needs to phals (a bit more light) and they’re a good gateway into sympodial orchids.
