Hi! The question is in the title! Purchased this Cattleya approximately 1,5 month ago, since then it lost its flowers and I noticed a new growth yesterday (pic 3), yay! It's currently potted in this dark pot, media is lava rock. I'd like to repot it, but I read I shouldn't do it without new roots showing up. The problem is, with that pot and the fact that it is potted deep in the pot, I can't easily see if there's new roots down there 😅
Do you know when I could expect new roots? I read during spring (I'm currently on a tropical island with 2 seasons so no real spring), or after flowering, which is now. Any chances maybe that the new pseudobulb produces roots once it's more mature?
Thanks for the answers!

  1. Also if someone is used to Cattleyas (it’s my 1st) and knows that hybrid, is it sturdy, or a difficult one to grow? Thanks 🙏
