  1. Out of curiosity, how did you begin your life in Japan? Was it done straight through founding a business or some more roundabout way?

  2. The Japanese garden looks great and I love how the house is coming together. I love wind chimes and it will give the garden a beautiful touch.

  3. A water tank is fine and will not go off if enclosed and has filters. Collect water from the roof, it can be used for all non drinking uses. We have two 25,000 litre tanks here in Australia. It's used for toilets, hot water, washing machine and garden. It's been very handy recently as we haven't had any decent rain for 2 months in summer.

  4. Looks great but one question. Are you planning on painting or cleaning up the exterior of the house and the roof? I would think doing this first before building a deck or a nice garden would be better no?

  5. Fantastic!! The true beauty of the Japanese garden is the complex simplicity. 👌 It's going to be such an amazing house. You should be so proud of what you have accomplished. 👍

  6. good thing it's not archeology, because how and where you find someone is more important than the artifact. So digging them out with out with an excavator would earn you a deathstare or three

  7. Las Vegas: The air is really dry so your nasal passages will hurt after a day or two. It’s hot during the day, cool at night in the desert. The water is hard so your skin will also dry out. Remember, the house always wins. If you’re gonna gamble consider it throwing money away. Sometimes you do win though. Buffets are better at the nicer hotels – Wynn, Bellagio, etc. Mari juana is legal there, so you can get things like edibles. Just don’t try to take any back. The sushi sucks. Go to In-N-Out burger. Drinking is legal everywhere and everything is open 24 hours. Catch a show or watch a concert.

  8. It’s river rock walk way. You are an idiot. American southwest landscape crew couod do this whole yard in 3-5 dats max. And look even better.

  9. As a geologist I like the idea of the pathway a lot. It looks amazing. Also the idea to add the circular grinder stones which follow the other tangent. I've seen such grinder stones in action when I visited Minka-En in Noborito in 2008. Some are for rice, some for sesame, who knows. We've seen so much unknown tools there from long time ago. Regarding the river, I'd dig deeper at the end part where the cannal ends and the water basin opens up, this allows the water to fill up and settle. It may help to have a lager amount taht has to press itself throug that small canal and speed up the water. If you are not sure if there are more wells in the ground, I've seen some japanese gardeners who test it with a dowser. Sounds weird, but it often works.

  10. A popular solution for log house main rooms, or large cabin spaces where I'm from are circular LED lamps. You can get them any size pretty much up to several meters in diameter. They fill the space with light, they look modern, but they do not clash with the space. It's an option anyway.

  11. I'm sorry not to be able to see you in Las Vegas. I hope you enjoy your trip and make a lot of contacts! The garden is going to be beautiful.

  12. Love your videos..can the camera person show more of the landscaper doing the landscaping for example his process longer than a quick short show the he show us the person. I like to see the process of landscaping ❤

  13. The momentum is building with each video! I love also that each video is a lesson on embracing the new and old, natural and modern, especially in the Japanese garden. The straight lines of the paths paired with each stone being allowed to “show” its best side is a lovely touch.

    Have fun in Las Vegas!
    Take care!

  14. 😅Oh. My. Word! I'm literally doing this!
Selectively choosing cobblestones for a mixed brick/wood paths. Creating pathways around my little UK town garden to intersection over a 3 metre long cattle trough, "rill!"

I'm a TOTAL amateur at all this, but read and watch stuff like this to keep inspired! I too decided instinctively to use a dry-like sand/mortar "bed" to hide as much of the, "cement" as possible and just show-off the stone. It's slow going, (mostly because of our weather), but I take pleasure knowing I have chosen and placed every stone for its aesthetic beauty.

I've subscribed and maybe, one day I'll come and visit!
