Hi, I’m currently planning for a future vivarium that will house a nomadic species of ants.
I want to use a tank that will generally be lightweight because I will be moving around a lot. I’m currently planning to use this tank:https://www.amazingamazon.com.au/collections/pythons-snakes-enclosures-tanks/products/large-plastic-aquarium-tank-html
So can a plastic vivarium be good for an actual Vivarium?

That is about 19×11 inches–it’s small, but if you are only keeping ants, it may work.
Biggest issue is keeping the ants inside. Ants Canada puts a ring of baby powder, I believe?
Also, I’m not sure how big your colony will eventually get, but you may have to divide it fast.
And plastic will age and eventually crumble/crack (though likely a few years).
I would personally go with a 10 or even 20-gallon glass aquarium. I can move one that has substrate (not water!) with help. Set it up on a separate plywood base and you should be able to move easily.
