Waking up dahlias for the first time. Are any of these worth saving?

This is an automatic reminder regarding r/dahlias Rule 3:

When reasonable*, posters should make a good-faith effort to identify which variety/varieties are shown in their photo(s). If you don’t know for certain, please say so. Someone will usually know!

*Common-sense exceptions to this rule will be honored, such as if the photo does not contain a blossom, or if your photo contains large volumes (such as in wide field shots).

If you’ve already done this, thank you! No further action required.

If not, please add a reply to this comment and confirm if you know the name of your dahlia variety/varieties shown in the photo(s). Alternately, if you’re uncertain of the variety name(s), it’s ok to say that, too.

It’s a little difficult to tell from this picture. Were these ones you divided or ones you purchased?

The chunky one on the far left has potential. I can’t tell with the others if you have any of the stem attached to the tuber necks. The eyes form where the stem attaches to the tuber. I save all my weird ugly tubers for many weeks to see if they form eyes. It’s hard to see eyes when you first take them out of storage.

The lower left one has a high chance of at least 1 eye.

It’s difficult to see eyes when they’re unwashed. I agree with others that bottom left looks like it has a crown.

You’d be surprised though by an eye sometimes appearing on what appears to be the tiniest sliver of crown. Sometimes people will find things sprouting in their compost piles. If you have an extra tray or pile of soil outside, can’t hurt to “plant” them there and either let them rot out or surprise you by sprouting – you can always relocate later.

I hate to say it but you did not divide the dahlia correctly. You need to preserve the body, neck, and crown. You have one that looks correct–as everyone said, the lower left tuber.
