MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – The Shelby County Community Gardens program is now accepting applications for the 2026 gardening season.

“The Shelby County Community Gardens give residents the opportunity to connect with the land, grow healthy food for their families, and build stronger relationships with their neighbors,” Mayor Lee Harris announced on Friday.

Now in its seventh season, the Shelby County Community Gardens at 6266 Gardener Road has over 360 plots for gardeners this season.

Any resident of Shelby County is eligible and everyone is encouraged to apply.

“Our goal is to foster and grow a vibrant green community here in Shelby County. When you visit the garden, you can truly feel the sense of community that exists there,” Shelby County Parks and Neighborhoods Manager Karen Bell said.

Gardeners have options this year. Select plots are available in 100′ x 25′ and in a smaller 25′ x 25′ plot sizes.
