Cacti waking up for spring time 2026!!! My Echinocatus Grusonii (70+ years old) and my Opuntia (over 1 years old). Because spring time is here, you know what that means! Dormancy period is over and the cacti are ready to party! Can’t wait for the blooms! Banana and my hand is for scale purposes only

Wow that grusonii is gorgeous! Please share again when she flowers 😍😍😍
I wanted to also update something as I was gravely misinformed about the history of the echinocactus grusonii you see in the pictures. I got the history of it mixed up with another cactus somewhere else so this one was not originally at an abandoned site. The correct story is that a cactus grower planted it from seed in 1955 and grew it ever since. It out lived him, as he died a long time ago at 95 years old. He grew cactuses all his life and in all honesty despite how much younger I am than 95, I won’t be surprised if it even outlives me
Massive mate wow
Wow, amazing Grusonni,‼️‼️ Opuntia too 😃
Wow again 😄
Both are Spectacular 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The banana for scale 🤣
I was gonna question the age but didn’t wanna sound like a dick. These get big a lot faster than people know, especially when grown by guys that grow them for a living. I’ve seen legit multi headers that fill out a 48″ box and the guys are like “oh that’s barely 25 years old”. California sun + regular fertilization does wonders lol
