Learn how to plant cilantro from seed in this quick garden update! After growing tons of herbs and leafy greens last year, cilantro became one of my favorites…fresh, flavorful, and perfect for so many dishes. In this short, I prep my herb bed, sow a reliable variety from Johnny’s Seeds, and share my simple spacing and planting method for great germination.
But there’s one unexpected gardening challenge… my cat shows up. She is notorious for digging up any freshly prepared soil in my garden and ruining the consistent germination of my sowing. To prevent that ill put sticks and brambles onto the bed until the plants are established.
If you’re growing herbs this season, cilantro is a cold-hardy, easy herb to grow from seed and does great when planted close together in small garden beds.

Thanks for sharing.. New Sub here.
More of the destroyer! 🐈 so cute ☺️
That’s very clever, laying brambles on top to keep the cats from excavating and ruining the new plant babies🎉🎉🎉
I have 5 feline excavators
My favorite is Basil!
I also have seed destroyers. Mine look like squirrels. Nothing is direct seeded without being covered.
