COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Giving your houseplants some time outdoors will help them thrive.

It’s important to be strategic and help the plants acclimate, said Jayla Fry with Texas A&M AgriLife.

“Typically, it’s a gradual building up over two to three weeks,” she said. “You take it out and you may put it in the shade the first time. Just let the wind start to blow it and move it around. Then you’re going to bring it in. The next day it may be a little bit longer and you’re slowly, gradually increasing the sun exposure, as well as the wind.”
