I have them sitting on top of soil. Not buried, just on top. I let them sit out for a couple days before putting them there.
This is in the basement and it’s a little colder down there, could that be it??
From what I’ve read people usually have an issue with them turning brown and mushy, but mine are turning crispy!
The soil is dry, I didn’t even spray it
The soil is NOT sterile, I reused some old potting soil
Any tips?
Most of them came from my friend’s Jade bush, they were fallen off, or from a whole branch that fell off. Maybe they were just bad to begin with.

Place it on the soil and spray with water. Let it dry in between but if you start to see the plant drying spray more. Don’t overwater either because that causes it to be mushy.
Soil need some more water. Roots need something to grow towards.
The soil needs to be damp.
I stick the bottom of the leaf in the soil and water normally. They grow like weeds.
How much direct / indirect light are they getting ?
