Today my garden had a surprise waiting for me! 🌱

Back in July, I planted cucumbers β€” but we ended that crop early when we decided to amend our soil and shift our grow strategy. The first official crops in that space are collards, kale, beans, and marigolds.

But today, on October 12th, I spotted something unexpected: volunteer cucumber plants popping up on their own! I have no idea how well they’ll do this late in the season, but it’s a great reminder that nature has her own timeline β€” and sometimes growth happens when (and where) you least expect it.

Watch to see these surprise cucumbers and let’s talk about your unexpected garden discoveries in the comments!
