Pruning help: Southern Crabapple

    Your tree is still too young, there’s nothing to prune unless there’s something rubbing that we can’t see.

    Also, bamboo stakes should be removed at time of installation. They create a dependency which leads to skinny, upright growth.

  2. Hey y’all! I planted several natives last spring/summer and picked this Southern Crabapple up from a local nursery because of it’s beneficial diversity (birds, bees & butterflies). I’m worried I’ll mess it up, so I was looking for advice on how to approach pruning to encourage growth.

    I tried Googling and scouring YT, but could only find references to already-mature crabapple trees.

    Thank you for any advice!
