Hello! I’ve had this banana tree for just under 2 years now, the pot drains into a tray underneath it so it can soak up the extra water. I water once a week (or every other cuz I forget sometimes :0) it’s near an east facing window (I just moved it before the first 4 pics because I added the new grow bulb lamp setup) I live in Wisconsin so it stays inside except for the summer (I only put it out if nighttime temps are 65° or higher) and I just cut off all the dead brown leaves. Any advice to get it healthy again would be so so appreciated! (Last pic is when I first got it, it was very lush and had so many leaves 🙁 )
P.s. I don’t know what kind of soil is in it but it hasn’t been repotted since I got it. The pot is about a foot(?) tall, I’m planning to repot it once the weather is nice, I’m also wondering if I need a bigger pot.
P.p.s. There’s a pup that’s been growing on the side for a couple months now, what should I do with it?
Thanks!!

Bananas can take full sun though i know you said it’s indoors just temporarily due to the temps.
They are also very very heavy feeders. Load it up with some worm castings and fertilize every watering.
Hi, i had to google ur numbers ti make sense of it but i think i can help (next time please put metric in brackets at least).
I have a 3 and a half year old banana plant. It is a all year round indoor plant. I live far north in Edmonton, Canada. Ill add a pic of banunu.
From what i can see the soil might be too compacted and its likely root bound. Get a spoon or chopsticks and dig on the side of the pot. Check if you see the roots going around.
I have noticed as the banana plant aged it became more picky with humidity, thus i placed a humidifier next to it. As soon as i got one i notoced leaves stopped turning yellow on the rips.
Dont water on a schedule. Wait for it to dry properly the top. Usually u hear “wait for top 5cm (2inches) to dry before waterings” but this is not true for big pots woth big plants as volumes has to be taken into account. I would recommend buying a moisture meter, you will know quite accurately when it needs watering. I water banunu when the meter says 2/3 when the spike is mid pot.
Soil wise, when repotting i would make sure it has about 20% extra perlite minimum. Buy a generic indoor plant mix and add perlite. I use miracle grow, it does fine.
Dont wait to repot if a plant needs repotting. Ive repotted like 12 plants this winter. Its fine.
If you need anything ill see if i cam help answering anything.
Ps. Cutting off a pup to make a new banana plant is stressful.
