For plants that want more humidity just add pebbles with water in your saucer. This could help with leveling the urns.

I don't know if it would help in this application but I get decorative bowls and plates from thrift and antique stores for drip pans for most of my house plants. Also the plastic party bowls and serving plates you can get a Dollar stores work really well and don't break the bank.

love your Urn planters! They will be so pretty on your mantel! I found some square saucers that would look really good with the urns, IMO. I saw them on a site called Campo De' Fiori and they are much closer in color/tone to your urns than standard terra cotta. They also have a downloadable catalog. I have to say, that have some super lovely things and I could probably spend a fortune on their wares!

Have you thought of adding a birch tree grove, in the far corner, by the new house you and your mom will be working on. Give both of you, some privacy, mid summer and lovely color come fall.
