Before anyone comes for me, my garden is huge and filled with lots of wildlife and pollinator-friendly stuff. This is just a small section of the back of it.

I’m putting a shed in this unused section. It’s got a lot of brambles which will need clearing, some of which may come from the outer boundary.

I’ve been quoted (including bramble root removal and a ramp down to the gravelled area) £900 for a 12×10 concrete base or £1500 for the whole area concreted over.

I don’t love the idea of concreting more than I have to, however it would make upkeep around the perimeter of the shed much easier. If I didn’t concrete the entire thing, I’d probably bark the perimeter.

What would you choose?

Has anyone got any experience of concrete being able to fend off brambles?

Can’t decide what to do!
