Hello!

My well-meaning husband loves to see me happy and encourages my plant collection.

Last year, he surprised me with some Venus fly traps which I had to suddenly learn how to care for. Going well!

Today he arrived with a pitcher plant. I know nothing about them and I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed.

Can anyone help me ID the plant so I can figure out how to care for it? Absolutely happy to get any advice as well. Thank you so much 💛

    N. “Ventrata”, a common commercial hybrid known for its vigorous growth, a hybrid of N. Ventricosa and N Alata.

edit: this is the best nepenthes you can start with, it’s very hardy, can grow outside in the sun, and it’s almost indestructible. Keep it moist but not wet, and if you don’t get pitchers move it to more light. Do not fertilise, it will catch plenty of food of its own.
